At FG Degree College, the 14th of August holds immense significance as a day of patriotism, remembrance, and unity. This year, the college community came together with great enthusiasm to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event was organized in the college courtyard, which was adorned with green and white flags, bunting, and banners carrying inspirational quotes of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

Opening Ceremony

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem sung by the entire audience in unison. The flag-hoisting ceremony was performed by the Principal, accompanied by senior faculty members, while students saluted the flag with pride.

Speeches and Debates

Several students delivered heartfelt speeches in Urdu and English, highlighting the sacrifices of our forefathers and the importance of safeguarding freedom. Debates on “How Youth Can Shape the Future of Pakistan” added intellectual depth to the program, inspiring students to play their role as responsible citizens.

Cultural Performances

To honor the spirit of freedom, students presented national songs, tableau performances, and skits that depicted the struggles of the independence movement. A special drama portraying the hardships faced during the Pakistan Movement received a standing ovation from the audience.

Principal’s Address

In his speech, the Principal emphasized that independence is both a blessing and a responsibility. He urged students to embody values such as honesty, discipline, and unity in their daily lives. He also reminded them of the importance of education in strengthening Pakistan’s future.

Prize Distribution

The winners of the debate competition and cultural performances were awarded certificates and shields. This recognition motivated students to continue participating in constructive activities with passion and dedication.

Community Engagement

As part of the celebration, a tree plantation drive was also launched on campus to promote environmental responsibility alongside patriotism. Students eagerly participated, pledging to protect both their country and its natural resources.
